Our jurisdictions continue to show that real comprehensive public safety is built through an ecosystem of cross-sector partners who center those most at risk of being impacted by community violence, and sustained by building pathways to what’s possible.

15 Years of Action and Impact
As Cities United marks 15 years of impact, we pause to reflect on a journey of hope, commitment, and an unwavering belief in what’s possible.
What began as a call to action has grown into a national movement that has reshaped how communities define and achieve true public safety.
We continue to stand alongside mayors, local leaders, trusted messengers, and young leaders as they build comprehensive public safety ecosystems grounded in interruption, healing, and opportunity. Together, our network has supported hundreds of jurisdictions in interrupting cycles of violence, strengthening community trust, and investing in solutions that honor the full humanity of those most impacted.
This anniversary is a celebration and a testament that the work is working! Lives have been saved and changed. Systems have been challenged and updated. Communities are stronger, more connected, and more equipped to create conditions where young Black men and boys can thrive.
Fifteen years later, Cities United continues to stand at the intersection of strategy and soul by seizing the moment to deepen impact and expand what’s possible. As always, we will center people, partnerships, and possibilities to build communities that are truly safe, healthy, and hopeful for generations to come.
